Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026. BahtBeat (www.bahtbeat.com) is a free calendar of live music in Pattaya, Thailand, run by Bahtbeat LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA (the "data controller"). Contact: admin@bahtbeat.com.
What we collect, and why
- No accounts. You can't sign up, and we don't ask for your name, email or location.
- Language choice. If you switch between English and Thai, that choice is saved in your own browser (local storage). It never leaves your device.
- Forms and emails. "Suggest an event" and "Advertise with us" open your own email app with a message addressed to admin@bahtbeat.com. Nothing is sent unless you send that email. We use what you write only to answer you and to update the listings, and we keep these emails for up to 2 years.
- LINE chat. If you add BahtBeat on LINE (@342yeeay), LINE passes us your messages and a LINE user ID so the bot can answer. The bot doesn't store your messages. If you ask to talk to a person, we keep your LINE user ID and the time for 12 hours so the bot stays quiet, and the owner gets a short phone alert. Chats with a person are kept in LINE's Official Account chat under LINE's policy.
- Server logs. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, page) for a short time, for security and to keep the site running.
- Link counts. When you open a venue's or event's link, we add one to a daily count for that venue (which venue, which kind of link, which day). Nothing about you is stored with it: no cookie, no IP address. We use the totals to show venues how many people BahtBeat sends them.
- Venues, artists and their public contacts. Listings contain names of venues, artists and events, and sometimes a business contact (such as an email address) that the venue or artist published themselves on their own website or page. We use these to list events, credit the source and, occasionally, to invite a venue to work with us. We never buy contact lists. Anyone we contact can opt out by replying "STOP" or "ยกเลิก", and we keep the address only to make sure we never contact it again.
Legal basis
We rely on our legitimate interests in running a free events guide (listings, logs, link counts, answering messages, a few business invitations); on consent for any personalised-advertising cookies where the law requires it (none are used now); and on a contract or pre-contract steps when a venue asks to advertise. You can object to any use based on legitimate interests.
Advertising and cookies
The site shows no ads at the moment, and no advertising cookies are set. If ads return, they will come from a network such as Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and this page will be updated first. You can turn off personalised ads at any time in Google's Ads Settings. The map loads from OpenStreetMap and the fonts from Google Fonts, which see your IP address the way any website does.
Who else handles data, and where
We use these services, which may process data in the USA and other countries outside Thailand under their own safeguards: Cloudflare (hosting, logs), Google (ads, fonts, email), LINE (chat), Meta and TikTok (BahtBeat's own social accounts), GitHub (where the site is built) and ntfy (the owner's phone alerts). We don't sell personal data.
Where the listings come from
Listings are gathered from public sources: venue and ticketing websites, public posts by venues and artists, festival calendars and web search. Each listing links to its source. To correct or remove a listing, email admin@bahtbeat.com.
BahtBeat's own social media accounts
BahtBeat publishes its own posts (the day's listings as images and text) to its own Facebook Page, Instagram account and TikTok account, using the official Meta Graph API and TikTok Content Posting API. These connections are used only to publish to BahtBeat's own accounts. We do not read, collect or store other people's profiles, messages, followers or personal data through them. The access keys are kept private (in encrypted GitHub secrets and on the owner's computer) and are used for nothing else. Pictures and music in our posts are often AI-generated, and the posts say so.
Your rights
Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (and, if you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR) you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Send your request by email to admin@bahtbeat.com or by registered mail to Bahtbeat LLC at the address above. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We reply within 30 days and it's free. See also how to delete your data. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (pdpc.or.th) or your local data protection authority.
Security
We keep as little as possible, and access keys are encrypted. If a data breach is likely to put you at risk, we'll report it to the authorities within 72 hours and tell you.
Children
BahtBeat is a nightlife guide for adults (20+) and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too.
